The vegetable farm is one of the newest ventures to generate revenue for the five widows in Kenya.  The hope is to produce a crop that will allow them to sell enough at market as additional income.  The below is a bill board of the announcement of the hair salon/barber training center.  This is the most recent investment of the Five James Foundation for the widows in Kenya.  The main purpose is to provide training for individuals in the community to learn the trade of doing hair/barbering.  There is a nominal tuition for anyone desiring to learn this trade.  Five James Foundation was the sole fundraiser of $5,000 to get this project off the ground.  The investment provided the building, all hair products, salon equipment/furniture, i.e.,  sinks, styling chairs and basic office supplies etc.

Dear Sheran.
Am happy for the way our father in heaven has favored and honored you for his own glory. We celebrate with you for the recognition and the award. The whole team is motivated and we will work hard to continue empowering more widows in Kenya and beyond.

It is official Five James Foundation is now serving in Uganda through a missionary serving there.  He felt the call to go there some years ago and minister.  His mother is still here at ACAC.  She is the contact between FJF and her son; the widows and orphans.  $638.00 was sent to assist an young orphan girl to attend a hair styling school and to assist two other widows with their already existing business of selling clothing and other various merchandise.

$338 will go to the student Dorothy a  19 year old orphan, who lost her father and was abandoned by the mother at a very tender age, she went to school up to high school but did not finish due to lack of school fees.  So she wants to do a certificate in hair dressing for a period of months at a cost of $338 and has a dream of starting up a beauty salon one day to take care of herself and family.

Alice is a 52 year old widow who sells clothing.  She will be blessed with $200 to purchase clothing items of buy a bale of the bestselling items (children wear, skirts or tops) for already existing business.

Hello Sheran, here are some photos of Dorothy at school and Rebecca's garden before, during  and after ploughing then the nursery bed with the seedlings they are going to transplant to the main garden, I talked to her and she said she will be going to Kampala to buy the rest of the items and we paid for Alice store for keeping the clothes and space for selling, sorry I forgot to scan the receipt but I will send it to you tomorrow, the bale of clothes has to be got in Kampala but am working on that ,  then we shall pay for a licence which allows her to operate in all the open markets in Tororo, this will help her make more sales than sitting in one place with very little or no sales. She is so happy and excited. God bless you.

Rebecca is a 47 year old widow with two sons.  She has a dream of being a commercial horticulturalist and own a greenhouse one day and be one of the best commercial farmers in the country.  She will be blessed with $100 to purchase more seeds and other items to supplement her business dream.

All this made possible through generous donations from you.  May God continue to bless you as you serve Him through your giving.

Five James Foundation is praising God for your generous donations that afforded the purchase of food and lanterns for the women and their children.

The support to the widows/women in Uganda has gotten off to a slow start.  As you can see the funds raised have used to purchase lanterns and food.  These are the two most needed items for the women.  There is absolutely no electricity in their community and lanterns provide the light that we take for granted.

Below is an email I received from Pastor Peter from Kenya; providing an update on the widows and John, the son of one of the widows that a couple here at ACAC put through secondary school.  What a blessing.  This is dated 2/11/18

Dear Sheran.
I bring greetings from my family and the widows group. We wish to let you know we value your input in our lives and we are greatful for all the support you have accorded us.The widows are busy in the farm planting different vegetables and corn maize. Also they continue in making jewelry which we are marketing locally. The salon is stable but we have not managed to relocate due to financial constrain. Your son John is admitted in college and will enroll next month. Thanks for your unwavering prayers and support. Our prayers are with you. Pastor Peter

The work for our Lord continues in Kenya, Uganda and Mexico. Five James Foundation recently took on support to a woman, Agnes, who was severely burned on her face and her parts of her arms and chest by someone throwing acid at her. The assailant has not been identified. This occurred in her 3 trimester. She has since delivered the baby; healthy. Five James Foundation contributes to the medical care of her burns and surgeries along with the food for her newborn and her other children.

We continue to send support to Guadalajara, Mexico to the ministry supporting women and building church plants.

Kenya, where it all began. We continue to support the five widows, Naomi, Shiro, Jacinta, Mary & Monica. They still have the chicken and vegetable farms. The pandemic hit them pretty hard. However, Five James Foundation was and is able to continue to support them as they purchase the necessary elements to maintain the farms. Costs have increased.
